How would you remove the bar number in 5 1 3 ?
The best way is to split the number into two
_
parts: 51/3.
Since 5 1 = 49, the answer is 493.
If a number has a bar number in it split the number after the bar.
_
7 3 1 = 7 3/1 = 671,
_
52 4 2 = 52 4 /2 = 5162,
_
3 2 15 = 3 2 /15 = 2815 since 3 2 = 28,
_ _
5 1 3 2 = 51/ 32 = 4928 since 51 = 49 and 3 2 = 28,
_ _ _
3 1 3 2 3 3 = 31/ 32 / 33 = 292827.
ALL FROM 9 AND THE LAST FROM 10
So far we have only had a bar on a single figure.
But we could have two or more bar numbers together.
__
7 14 = 686 the 7 reduces to 6 and the Sutra converts 14 to 86, ( 10 compliment of 4 is 6 and 9 compliment of 1 is 8)
__
26 21 = 2579 26 reduces to 25, ( 9 and 10 compliment)
__
7 02 = 698 the Sutra converts 02 to 98,
_
50 3 = 497 50 is reduced to 49 (alternatively, write 50 3 as 5 03: see previous
example),
__ _
4 20 = 4 2 0 = 380.
__
4 23 1 = 3771.
__
Here we can split the number after the bar: 4 23/1.
4 23 changes to 377, and we just put the 1 on the end: 4 231 = 3771.
