INTRODUCTION TO DIVISIBILITY TESTS
A divisibility test is basically a trick that helps us to determine whether a given number is divisible by a certain number, without actually performing a division. Let’s understand it with examples.
If we have a number example 89,457 and we want to know if it is divisible by say 3 or say 11, then we can determine it within few seconds without actually performing a division. Why is it essential to learn divisibility tests? These tests help us in factorization, in finding HCF LCM, in reducing the fraction to lowest form, for speedy calculations in word problems.
