 ONE-STEP EQUATIONS 

Equations like x + 39 = 70, x – 7 = 8, 3x = 15 and x 7 3 = are easily solved using the Vedic formula: Transpose and Apply. Transpose means "reverse" and in solving equations

Transpose and Apply means

where a number is added to the x-term: subtract,on the other side
where a number is subtracted: add,
 where the x-term is multiplied: divide, 
where the x-term is divided: multiply

Example: x + 6 = 8 ( plus transpose to minus)

x = 8-6

x = 2

Example: x-6 = 8 ( minus transpose to plus)

x= 8+6

x = 14

Example: 6x = 24 ( multiply transpose to divide)

x= 24/6

x = 4

Example: x/5 = 7 ( divide transpose to multiply )

x= 7 * 5

x = 35
